How to leave a larger inheritance: receiving a salary or dying in war?

Spoiler: Funeral benefits are more profitable.

"Novaya Gazeta" took a 35-year-old man, which is the average age of a conscript. They calculated that he would work for 30 years before reaching retirement.

Then they took the median salary in different regions and subtracted the subsistence minimum to determine the money that the man could theoretically spend on supporting children, etc.

Funeral benefits amount to 12 and a half million rubles. This includes presidential, governmental, and insurance benefits. Regional payments and other privileges were not taken into account.

In conclusion:

If a 35-year-old man dies in war, his family can receive more money than he could earn during his entire life. This situation even applies to large cities like St. Petersburg and Moscow.

since the war has begun, hundreds of thousands of Russians left the country. Many of them - into the unknown, without a job and savings. The Antiwar committee has founded a support group for Russian emigrants who are against the military aggression against Ukraine and don't find it possible for themselves to live in Putin's Russia.
