On March 8, 9 and 10, 14 delegates - organizers and activists of the Russian America for Democracy in Russia (RADR) from the states of Washington, Virginia, California, Massachusetts, New York and Florida - took part in an advocacy campaign in the US Congress. The campaign was conducted by one of the oldest organizations of the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America and its Washington, D.C.- division, the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS).
In total, about 150 delegates took part in the campaign, who held more than 80 meetings in both houses of Congress with representatives of the two main parties.
During the meetings, every member of Congress' office was ensured that members of the Russian diaspora in the U.S. wish for Ukraine's early victory and that they support continued financial and military assistance to Ukraine. The Congress was asked to pass a law as soon as possible to recognize the “Wagner PMC” as a terrorist organization, which may facilitate the recognition of Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism. They also discussed the use of frozen assets of the Central Bank for the restoration of Ukraine, restrictions on the purchase of lands and possessions in the United States by people associated with the Putin regime, secondary sanctions against those who help the Kremlin circumvent the sanctions already imposed, as well as the recognition of Putin's aggression.
